In Uzbekistan, 148.1 strokes are registered annually per 100,000 population. Stroke affects women more often than men (respectively 52.2% and 47.8%). Disability exceeds 83.8% (in the city - up to 94.7%, in the countryside - up to 72.9%). About 500 operations per year are performed in the republic for chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency (CVD), of which more than half (58%) are in patients who have already had ischemic stroke (IS). The increased interest in the problem is also explained by the fact that, along with the development of modern medicine and technology, ideas about the tactics of treatment and preventive measures for this severe pathology are changing, the development of which continues to attract the attention of practitioners and scientists.
