The earliest clinical manifestation of diabetic cardiomyopathy is considered to be left ventricular diastolic dysfunction (LVD), which, with progression, can lead to the appearance of clinical symptoms of chronic heart failure. According to some data, the prevalence of LVD among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) without clinical signs of heart disease reaches 75%.
