THE ROLE OF THE PRINCIPLE OF TOLERANCE IN SHAPING THE WORLDVIEW OF YOUNG PEOPLE
Abstract
Tolerance means acceptance and correct understanding of other cultures, ways of self-expression and manifestation of human individuality. Tolerance does not mean concession, leniency or indulgence. Showing tolerance also does not mean tolerating social injustice, abandoning one’s beliefs or yielding to the beliefs of others, or imposing one’s beliefs on other people. Everyone knows that tolerance is an active moral position and psychological readiness for tolerance in the name of positive interaction between ethnic groups, social groups, in the name of positive interaction with people of another culture, nationality, religious or social environment. Tolerance is necessary in relation to the characteristics of different peoples, nations and religions, and most importantly, in my opinion, tolerance is necessary in the upbringing of the younger generation, tolerance is needed in the family.
